Notes Welcome: This session will be informal – I’m a training designer, NOT a public speaker. I prefer a workshop-style approach.
I’ve been in training for 18 years, and have been focussing on design for the last 10. My main business Keystone Development provides bespoke training solutions for internal teams to deliver. I’ve worked with companies like Kellogg’s, Monsoon Accessorize, Pilkington, United Utilities, CFS and Warburton’s. My secondary business provides off-the shelf short training sessions designed for anyone to deliver. Many businesses want managers to deliver short training sessions, but they lack experience and resources – power Hour aims to meet this need.
Enough about me....
Ice-breaker exercise: Find a Picture It card that says something to you about training design: Its purpose, key skills, training designers – anything. Discuss it with others on your table. (5 mins). Now, go and find someone from another table who has chosen the same picture as you. Introduce yourself, and discuss your ideas about training design. (5 mins).
Debrief – gather some ideas about training design means to those in the group.
Designing Effective Training
A short session to help people to design effective training for their organisations. Was used at a professional conference. Appropriate for any size group of L&D/HR people or line managers responsible for training.
